Summary

I am a former Divisional Engineer of Météo-France and Research Engineer at LACy (the Laboratory of Atmosphere and Cyclones) at the University of Reunion Island.

For personal reasons and in order to freely carry out the projects that are close to my heart in the field of atmospheric development and research, I left Météo-France in June 2022 and founded Virtual3D Atmo. The company is specialized in research engineering, statistics and data processing, installation and configuration of measurement instruments as well as development of computer programs in the field of Earth and atmospheric sciences.

As an independent nomad worker, I have chosen Costa Rica as my place of residence. I am a freelancer, graduated of Météo-France and having worked.

I am very free and now want to work out of passion for the job and for pleasure.

IT AND NETWORK DIRECTOR OF THE MAPIO PROGRAM

  • Company Overview: The objective of MAP-IO is to study the composition of the atmosphere and the ocean-atmosphere processes having an impact on regional climate and numerical weather prediction
  • This scientific program is based on the banking of oceanic and atmospheric data by equipping the ship Marion Dufresne with 19 long-lasting and autonomous atmospheric measurement systems

  • I was in charge of ordering the computer equipment installed on board the Marion Dufresne
  • The installation on board the Marion Dufresne, the configuration of this equipment with the objective to make it work permanently, even in extreme conditions of swell, temperature or humidity
  • The writing of programs for interrogation and acquisition of data from the various atmospheric or oceanic sensors (DAVIS weather stations, radiometers, CO2, Nox, CH4 sensors, particle counters etc.)
  • The permanent archiving of these data by ensuring their high availability
  • The transfer of data from the ship to the University of Reunion via satellite links
  • The implementation of secure consultation systems via FTP, HTTP or SQL (PostgreSQL and MySQL databases)
  • The development of the project website with the objective of a real-time consultation of the different parameters measured on board
  • The installation of a network of Trimble type GPS
  • The autonomous power supply of instruments, sometimes installed on isolated sites or without electricity (solar panels)
  • The acquisition of data, their transfer in real time from the measurement site to the University of Reunion, and their permanent archiving
  • The provision of data via FTP, HTTP or MySQL services to the various scientists participating in the project
