I practiced and honed my strategic planning, communication, marketing, positive attitude, manual labor, agricultural knowledge, and skill development abilities in my work as the owner and sole employee of my small market farming business, Geauga Syrup LLC. I further developed my marketing skills, time management, cooperation, physical labor and agricultural technical skills as a summer laborer and market assistant at Bat Barn Farm, another small local permaculture farm. In my work at Great Lakes Growers, I gained valuable experience doing repetitive and physically demanding tasks for long periods of time and was challenged to maintain a high output and positive outlook at the same time, gaining greater discipline in the process. As a delivery driver for Grubhub and Doordash, I had to maintain focus and manage time effectively to balance the need to make punctual deliveries while driving safely and taking care of fragile food items. In these positions I learned to think quickly and maintain focus for long periods of time, and became a skilled driver.
