Process Transformation Senior Director

  • Responsible for Design and Delivery of the Process Transformation & Automation strategy for CR and Mexico GBS Centers, outcome was the outsourcing of Walmart Shared Services for Costa Rica and Guadalajara to Genpact, providing expedited process transformation glidepath for Walmart supported by business case.
  • Role was also responsible for leading / driving the decision for talent transfer of the Walmart operation of 650+ Costa Rican resources to Genpact and 200+ Mexican associates for Guadalajara into Genpact
  • Scope included establishment of a new Legal Entity, staffing HR and Legal roles, working with Finance teams given magnitude of deal
  • Managing across Steering Committees for both companies, until Outsourcing deal materialized.
  • Led the Innovations team. Responsible for delivering a $3M project portfolio primarily focused on productivity delivery initiatives. Role was responsible for alignment across the San Jose Center, Global Service Line Leaders (AP, AR, R2R), Operational Directors, Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts successful and on time delivery of commitments.
  • Innovation Team was also responsible for leading the Continues Improvement Program for the Service Center, as well as providing support to the Enabling Technologies used by the San Jose Center to support Latin American Operations.

  • Latin America Cost Accounting Operations Director: Nov 2009-Sept 2012
  • Responsible for managing the front office operation for cost accounting Latin America with a team of 22 people. This implied ensuring the books were closed on time and partnering with the end customer (P&G Business Units) to forecast and analyze costing trends during the year (standard costing variances) to correctly report financials to Controllership.
  • Americas F&A Payment and Banking Services Director: Nov 2006-Nov 2009
  • Led team of 74 people across employees and contractors towards delivering the Portfolio affecting Accounts Payable and Banking.
  • Scope included delivery of projects originated by the Service Line or Managing Projects that could affect the service line, such as a new bank, or integrating or divesting businesses. During this time my team led the integration of Gillette within the Payment and Banking Services Scope across Americas.
  • Treasury Banking Cash Management and Payments Operations Senior Manager: Jul 2003- Nov 2006
  • Managed Disbursements, Cash Management and Treasury Support Operations. Team was composed of 30 employees.
  • Responsible of leading the team to achieve key operational metrics such as successful payments, optimal level of cash in local bank accounts, partnering to global treasury to sweep excess cash for investment opportunities..
  • NA Employee Services Global Core Financials (SAP Implementation) Project Manager: Nov 2001-Jul 2003
  • Led the implementation of SAP across Payroll, Benefits and Compensation, Travel Expense Accounting for NA (US and Canada).
  • Role implied working with Subject Matter Experts to re-engineer the changes in from a process and tech perspective driven by the change of ERP (SAP). This implied analyzing legacy systems, mapping against future process, tech landscape, and driving training plans in conjunction with key business leaders. All of the above leveraging six sigma practices to eliminate waste in the process.
  • US Travel Expense & Relocation Accounting Transition & Operations Manager: Nov 1999-Nov 2001
  • Lead the transition of 6 work processes from Cincinnati, Ohio to San Jose Costa Rica In 6 months. Hired 25 employees and assure certification and training on all processes to be migrated. Shakedown, Commissioning, Qualification and Verification principles followed to assure people would migrate the processes in waves and stabilize with minimal impact to the end customer
  • Role also required understanding US Taxes, since team was also responsible for the calculation of the tax returns of employees impacted by the Relocation Processes.
