Reid Goldsmith is a retired Senior Court Reporter having retired from NYS Queens Supreme Court after 39-plus years. His reporting career began upon graduation from Dominick Tursi’s Verbatim School of Court Reporting. After graduation, he worked as a freelance court reporter. Passing the NYS test, he became an official hearing reporter for the NYS Department of Labor Unemployment Insurance, Tower 2, World Trade Center, 52nd Floor.
Upon passing another test, he became an official reporter in NYS Queens Family Court. everal years after which he passed the NYS Senior Court Reporter exam. He was then hired as an official Senior Court Reporter at Queens Supreme Court in 1983, remaining there until he retired in 2014 as an assistant supervisor with over 39 years.
In addition to being a member of the Association of Surrogate and Supreme Court Reporters’ union, Reid was also elected by his officemates to be on the Executive Committee of that union representing his courthouse, and, additionally, appointed to be a member of the technology committee of the ASSCR.
Reid has been employed for 20-plus years as a Certified CRI from the National Court Reporters Association working at several prestigious schools.
Reid is a member of the NCRA, and the NYSCRA where he is currently a Board member and President.

Helping them to learn courtroom procedures as well as reading back from the stenographic notes.
